FAQ

Question:  Why can’t I buy just one or two bars?

  • Answer: We are a wholesale soap company.  If you would like to purchase our soap, please contact us (lacy@razorfamilyfarms.com) and we will let you know where you can find our soaps in your area.  We carefully select the shops we sell to and encourage you to support your local small business owners.

Question:  How many goats do you have and do you name them?

  • Answer: We currently have six goats.  All of our goats have names.  You can meet them here.

Question: Why don’t you use palm oil in your soaps?

  • Answer: We are very careful about where our ingredients come from and for that reason, our soaps do not contain any palm oil. Oil palm production is a documented cause of substantial (and too often irreversible) damage to the environment. Deforestation, loss of habitat for critically endangered species, and increases of greenhouse gas emissions are just a few of the ways that palm oil production is not something we wish to support. We find that even the “sustainable” palm oil certification does not meet our standards.

Question: How big is each bar of soap?

  • Answer: Our bars measure 2 7/8” x 1 7/8” and are approximately 6.5 ounces (depending on ingredients since some of our bars contain exfoliants). There is some variation in size and color because our soaps are crafted and shaped by human hands.

Question: What is tallow?

  • Answer: Tallow is rendered fat (our tallow comes from grassfed beef).   Tallow-first soaps (soaps which list tallow as their first ingredient) are highly sought after by members of the “traditional” wet-shave community for their creamy stable lather and good conditioning properties.

Question:  How do you ship the soap?

  • Answer: We ship our soap as First-Class Mail packages.  Each bar is labeled and wrapped prior to shipping.
