About

We are a happily married military couple trying to start a farm, a family, and embrace the simple life.  We have six dairy goats, twenty chickens, two ducks, two Golden Retrievers, two tortoiseshell cats, and one horse.

Lacy makes the soap, milks & grooms the goats, and maintains a blog/website (www.RazorFamilyFarms.com).  The website features tutorials and posts on constructing animal housing, baking, cooking, quilting, knitting, and also includes short stories & country living prose.

Joshua is an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army.  He spends his infrequent and very precious time off building chicken coops, constructing goat sheds, manufacturing milking stanchions, and moving temporary fences for rotational grazing.  While doing all of that, he patiently allows his wife (Lacy) to stalk him with her camera.

Each bar of our handcrafted soap contains tallow, castor oil, coconut oil, almond oil, shea butter, cocoa buter, and goat milk.  The goat milk comes from our very own goat herd (made up of Nubians, Alpines, and Saneens).  Every day our girls are milked by hand, groomed, and then returned to pasture.

Meet our girls (the real stars of the show)!

Nubian Alpine cross doe

Apple (pictured above) is an Alpine/Nubian doe.  She produces rich, creamy milk and had twins this year.  If you would like to see the birth of her kids, click here to watch.  Apple is shy and very gentle.

Nubian doe

Suzanne (pictured above) is a Nubian doe who is quite talkative.  She produces great quantities of milk with a high butterfat content.  Suzanne comes running whenever she sees us and demands lots of attention.  She loves to be brushed and had triplets this year (click here to see them).

Babka (pictured above) is a Nubian doe.  Babka is convinced that she is a house pet.  She adores people, relishes attention, and loves being groomed.

Here’s one of Babka’s babies, Kramer (see above), atop our homemade milking stanchion and eagerly awaiting a nice grooming session.

Elrod (above) is a Registered Saanen buck. Our buck is so playful! He loves people and comes when called.
Sidney & Boston hanging out

Boston and Sydney (pictured above) are Apple’s twins. Boston is a wether (castrated male) and Sydney is a doe.
